The manual provides an introduction to medical emergencies that dental practitioners may encounter during routine clinical work. It provides a professionally and scientifically grounded description of the main medical emergencies, starting with their definition. For each condition, the risk factors, pathophysiological mechanisms, and clinical features are outlined. The management of each emergency is illustrated step by step, followed by preventive measures. Each thematic unit is supplemented with recent references from the literature.
The manual is primarily intended for dental medicine students enrolled in the corresponding course, but it may also serve as a useful reference for practising dentistsin their daily work with patients.
This book represents the first original publication in the Croatian language dedicated to medical emergencies in dental practice.
